Data/metadata

I just read the following on the wiki: 'Summary of convergence efforts for
Observation in various data models, which come from different points of view
e.g. archive vs analysis tools. A number of data models have been considered
so far, and these show areas of similarities.'

Has there been any work on consolidating these models to a single one or has
any single model become the standard? I understand that IDHA has been used
as the metadata model for CDS VizieR data: can this be used to quickly
develop an agreed metadata model for the VO?

(Apologies if this has already been discussed and decided: point me at the
relevant thread if so.)

Cheers,
Tony.
