Thanks for the advice and the extra info. We’ve updated to the latest TAP Lint and can now see the same error locally, which is great. We’ll apply the quote fix.

Hi James, all,
TAP-1.1 will feature an _arraysize_ or _datasize_ column name alongside the 1.0 _size_ name for that column that is known to be a clash with ADQL reserved words.
Double quoting "size" in query statements should be the temporary solution for it.

Just to be clear on the attributions: That's TAP Lint which is actually giving the error.  The HEASARC just runs TAP lint  on all of the TAP services and records the results.

This is a well known problem.  I think the usual solution is to use double quotes whenever you give the refer to this column. I.e., the column name should be given as
   "size"
rather than
   size

In registering our new TAP service I’ve come across a clash in standards with the validation of the TAP_SCHEMA.columns table.

The TAP 1.0 standard defines the columns table in section 2.6.3. It includes a size column, however the report by the HEASARC validator lists this as a breach of the ADQL standard.
