Sorry for delay - I was swamped in preparing grant application ...

I am afraid this is a little confusion - it is not problem of whole
archive not providing coordinates - but in normal spectroscopic archive
(especially of high resolution high-precision spectrograph like
ELODIE/SOPHIE HARPS ....) you want to publish spectra observed - but as it
is spectrum of a potential exoplanet, you will be requested to omit
coordinates (highly confident - before more publications about the planet)
and/or time information in case of photometry transit curve - which
allows you to estimate the period.
All of this information should not be in header - then you may not use the
POS queery and if you strictly adhere to SSA you, in fact, cannot publish
such a spectrum. But if you allow TARGETNAME query, you may search for
object (you know from articles what is the interesting star only by ID
like KEPLER-XXXX or COROT-YYYY...)
Of coures it is a minority of cases in a normal archive but you are faced
with problem how to publish through SSA the interesting spectrum of THAT
EXOPLANET (harboring star)
And there is not information about age, mass etc as you suggest ..
