An idea for a VO Applications Newsletter

Hello,
as an astronomer, I think that is a very good idea :)
And as a person that has tried to introduce the VO to other astronomers,
the newsletter would be very very very useful :)
Just two comments related with the analysis of data and the newsletter:
a) in issues related with how the different tools obtain the results
(and since
such a newsletter opens the VO a bit more to the science community)
Would it make sense to make a comparative study of tools that
perform simillar task? (and even wit comparisons with no VO tools?)
Maybe it can be even submitted to a referee journal, which has more
impact for "final users".
b) in Applications that would provide physical analysis of data (i.e.
final physical quantities by comparison with theoretical models), it
would be also interesting to show the existence of these theoretical
models
form the VO (there is currently an effort in the theory interest group
to convince astronomer that produce models to put them in the VO, but
since they are in general not accessible from applications is a really
hard task)
Would it make sense to include these kind of services in the newsletter?
The number of these services will be less numerous than observational
data
services, but it would help both to astronomers to reach them thougth
the VO and App
group to know their existence and access them for physical data
analysis :)
cheers
Miguel
