I want to be sure that everyone knows that accepting anything but the XML
date/time format will invalidate the ability to use schema-driven validation,
construction, and/or object-code-binding. If the schema declares that something
is type="xs:dateTime" then it is an error for the data in that position to be
other than type="xs:dateTime" (whatever that means).

I don't see why it is controversial that type="xs:dateTime" means
type="xs:dateTime". :-)
