> Am I missing something? Is there other public infrastructure out there? Is it listed somewhere? If the answers to the last two questions are "yes" and "no" respectively, please enlighten me and I'll be happy to update the wiki with the good news.

The wiki is mostly an internal site for the WG. Voevent.org currently points to the wiki, but could be easily redirected to a different front page. This would be a good time for a concise page providing answers to questions to questions such as above. In the mean time this was one of the motivations for the Hotwired book:

Regarding jump-starting the deployment of VOEvent-compliant infrastructure, to a large extent this is an issue of reaching critical mass. Several major players (LSST, LOFAR, LIGO, GAIA...) are in the mix and we each tend to be aware of the context for those projects we're involved with. One thread has been from SkyAlert to the VAO Transient Facility via the VAO/LSST MOU. We could accommodate other strings on our bow. Roy mentioned our long-time partner GCN which has been alpha testing an update to their server for about a month.

Related topics will likely also be a key focus of Hotwired III, sometime in 2012/13.
