Not my intent in the least.

The deadline is tomorrow for letters of intent to host special
sessions at the 2009 IAU GA. I'm aware of two IVOA-related efforts
to organize such sessions. It's up to us to lead them, however, not
to punt (sorry - reference to American football) on all the difficult
questions.
In general, issues arise when they have to be addressed. Before the
IVOA, questions of computer-aware semantics in astronomy had not
topped the queue. Now they do.
The ball is in our court (Wimbledon may benefit from better
internationalization).
