I believe we safely concluded that we do not need this.  

First note that that for harvestable registries this is in effect (see 
section 3.1.5).  The response must include the resource record of 
xsi:type="vg:Registry" which describes that registry.

The equivalent is not part of the searchable interface; however, note 
that: 
  o  if you have the identifier of the Registry, you can get the resource 
        record from it via getResource()
  o  when the Standard Support Services standard is complete, registries 
        would be expected to implement the getRegistration method, which 
        returns exactly what getRegistry() would return.

I haven't heard an immediate use case--i.e. a specific reason we need it 
now--to warrant including it in RI v1.0.
