  I give a short reply concerning what was/will be done at CDS.

  An OAI interface to VizieR has been set up. It is available at
this address:

  It can be tested with the open archives explorer.
It supports 2 metadata formats: ivo_vr and oai_dc

  The ivo_vr returns XML that complies to RM/Schema recommendations,
except that we have allowed for a '+' character in the identifier...
(because for tables from Astronomy and Astrophysics, instead of 
using A&A, we use 'A+A').

  Yes it can be harvested. Don't know exactly how many people
have tried to do it...

  We have not tried to do so because we only wanted to describe 
vizier for it to be harvested.

  In the near future, we plan to integrate an OAI client in the GLU.
That way, many resources already described by the GLU, but not yet
described in a CDS registry could be made available to other registries 
using OAI/RM/Schema.
