Dear HEIG Folks,

It’s been a bit quiet lately but we’ve been working behind the scenes to get the HighEnergyObsCoreExt doc seeded to GitHub (https://github.com/ivoa/HighEnergyObsCoreExt).
Right now the seeded doc is there. It contains the ObsCore section (6.2) of the HEIG IVOA Note and then Ian’s table from his Interop presentation. From there we can move it toward the document we need for June.

The ObsCore Extension was a topic at the TCG meeting this week, so we’re working one of the topics the IVOA considers high priority. Marco suggested a Plenary session at the College Park meeting. I reported that we had a good meeting with Radio and TimeDomain in Feb and were working meet the ‘have a doc by the Interop’ schedule.

I’ve been thinking how to support input to the process, and my idea was to create a Google table where folks can share their ideas/suggestions for the Obscore extension that would support their waveband beyond those identified so far. Then we can meet as a group, discuss, and decide which move up to the Note. I also don’t want folks to be shy about making contributions … the more we have the better. It will ensure healthy conversation and we’ll made a decision on each keyword. The thing to remember is that these keywords are for data discovery of your data in the VO.

Here’s pointers info on ObsCore related docs (I also added it to the HEIG wiki page):

Here’s a Doodle Poll (https://doodle.com/group-poll/participate/bm8AYLna) to determine the next meeting. (Bruno just returned from leave and Ian/I are away from Mar 19-26). I picked dates/times after our return.
Let’s try to get the poll done by (Tuesday, Mar 18) so I can call the meeting before I depart.

The current seeded version of HighEnergyObsCoreExt is attached below.

Best regards,
-janet
