Hi everyone,
Please find at the following URL the latest version of the VOSpace 2.1
working draft:
http://volute.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/projects/grid/vospace/doc/VOSpace.pdf
Changes in this WD:
- Added REQUEST=redirect to optimized pullFromVoSpace and documented
supported modes (Sections 3.6, 5)
- Changed Transfer in XSD to accept parameters (such as Content-length).
- Redid all webservice operation examples (Section 5)
- Changed XSD element authType to SecurityMethod to match IVOA standard
- Fixed general inconsistencies and added more text regarding transfers,
access control (Sections 3.6, 4, 5)
- Ported source to ivoatex
Main changes in the last 2.1 WD:
- Addition of optimized HTTP GET method of data transfer for pushToVoSpace,
pullFromVoSpace
- Addition of authType to Protocol in XML schema for transfer negotiation.
- Deprecated view=data convenience method of data transfer
There are few incomplete portions of the document which I plan to address
and discuss at the Sesto iterop. For example, I found that the XML for
search criteria was (mistakenly) left out of the v2.0 schema. I think this
means that no one has implemented it (please let me know if I'm wrong!),
and thus gives us a chance to revisit searches. One noticeable shortcoming
of searching in the currently documented mechanism is the inability to
match on Node URI (path and/or name) or Node type. There are also some
administrative tasks remaining such as producing an updated compliance
matrix and bibliography.
I apologize for getting the document out so soon to the interop but look
forward to hearing any comments you may have.
Regards,
Brian
