We did discuss this in Strasbourg - the argument is that instead of  
POSTing an XML representation, POSTing form parameters would work just  
as well. We said that this could be done as an optional alternative  
but Guy felt that it would not be useful unless it was mandatory on  
all nodes. We opted to defer it to list discussion , et voila!
