Light curves in the IVOA

What's all this mailing list traffic at the end of June? I take a few days off
before the kids are out of school... :-)

I just wanted to say that this sounds interesting, relevant work has been done
both inside and outside the IVOA, and most importantly it sounds like there
are people who want to deliver such services and to use them. That is a very
good position to start from (although "start" isn't entirely accurate in this
case).

As the suite of IVOA standards matures, we do need to be more and more
cognizant of how new standards fit in with existing ones and it is to
everyone's benefit to take advantage of past investment in design and
implementation wherever possible.

With that in mind, I will ask people to collect relevant links and use cases
and put them on the wiki:

http://www.ivoa.net/cgi-bin/twiki/bin/view/IVOA/LightCurves

These will be used to guide further work. I will see about organising an
informal telecon to discuss, maybe in the first half of July.
