It is possible to have two accref-like columns in the table
returned by the initial search. One is as SIAP v1 and returns an image
synchronously. The other points to a UWS endpoint that makes the image
on
demand. Any given service might provide either or both of these
accrefs for
an image.
The alternative would be that the initial search is asynchronous, all
the candidate
images are computed during the search and the accrefs are all
synchronous. This
seems wildly too wasteful to me.
Note that UWS includes the provision for keeping the result - the
image in this case -
on the server. VOSpace is not required.
Note further that an asynchronous accref is an application of UWS in
its own right.
It is not CEA (a.k.a. UWS-PA), which is a separate, more-general, more
complicated
application of UWS. What we need here can be quite light-weight.
