MIME types in DAL services

I'm glad this matter is getting a little attention. For me, I am not 
interested in theoretical "correctness" of the MIME type, but rather 
behavior of my browser. When a VOTable comes, I would like pretty-print 
XML. Then when I install a VOTable viewer (eg Topcat),  should be able 
to make it so the VOTable starts my specialized viewer, but other XML is 
still pretty-printed.

It would be nice to have a server that delivers that various options 
that have been mooted for the VOTable MIME type. Then we can ask this WG 
to evaluate the options on their own environment. Once the results are 
in for different browsers, we can select the MIME types that generate 
the proper behavior.
