Thanks Tom!

I have just asked in the astropy-dev mailing list as you suggested. It was really easy to register and write to it, which certainly helps communication. 8)

Looking at the doodle poll, I would like to propose to have a first telecon to discuss the possible astropy-IVOA collaboration areas on

Thursday 19th of April 2018 at 17:00 CEST (= 11 am EDT)

You are all cordially invited to join the telecon and/or share your thoughts on this topic via email either before or after the telecon.

Thanks in advance for your time,

Bruno

I am personally going to be very busy in the next few weeks, but I would actually suggest emailing the astropy-dev mailing list (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/astropy-dev <https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/astropy-dev>) to ask more broadly if people would be interested in joining the meeting and the telecon you are planning. I'll fill the doodle poll in case I can join the telecon.

Please forgive me for sending you a direct email like this but I wanted to reach out to all of you to ask whether you would see some interest in establishing some sort of discussion about possible cooperations between the astropy community and the IVOA <http://ivoa.net/> community, which I am currently representing as member of its Committee on Science Priorities (CSP, in copy). We of course think that enhancing the mutual awareness might be positive for everyone, mostly given the recent changes on both sides. Hence my message.

Would some of you available and interested to join the meeting, even if remotely, to give a general presentation about astropy and then maybe also to participate on a discussion about possible synergies? We would be very grateful for that. What do you think?

Would that be possible?
