Dear TDIG members,
I was happy to meet you in Shanghai and I am pleased to take part of the TDIG.
As John mentioned, I have accepted to chair the group, and together with Dave Morris as vice-chair I hope we can well represent the group and that productive discussions take place through this mailing list.
John, thank you for your summary on Shanghai’s TDIG sessions on VOEvents and Time Series, and many thanks for your work as chair during the last years!
I would like to add to the wiki some interesting meetings coming up in the next months:
Transient Sky in 2020, 20-22 June 2017, Paris, France https://indico.in2p3.fr/event/14321/timetable/#20170622.detailed <https://indico.in2p3.fr/event/14321/timetable/#20170622.detailed> This is a three day workshop, unfortunately contributions will only be in French… There will probably be discussions on the VO vision on time domain, concerning VOEvents but also visualisation of time series (photometry, images, spectra,… )
Southern Horizons in Time-Domain Astronomy IAU Symposium 339, 13-17 November 2017, Stellenbosch, South Africa: http://iaus339.ast.uct.ac.za <http://iaus339.ast.uct.ac.za/>
ASTERICS workshop on Radio - γ: Transient Alert Mechanisms, September 26-28, Amsterdam, Netherlands https://www.asterics2020.eu/radio-gamma-workshop <https://www.asterics2020.eu/radio-gamma-workshop>
I will be attending the first two meetings. Please let us know if you plan on attending any of these meetings, or if you would like to add any other Time Domain VO related meeting to the list above, by replying to this email. I will add those to the wiki page.
Also, I would like to remind that a joint DAL/DM/TDIG task force team is being formed to identify solutions for Time Series use cases. Let us know if you would like to join the team.
Cheers,
Ada
