If you will be at the LSST All Hands Meeting next week, please come to
the session on 'Transient Infrastructure', it will Wednesday Aug 11 at
2pm. We will cover several areas, as listed below.

I am especially interested in gathering volunteers to give ~15 minute
talks on the topics below!
Please get back to me if you would like a slot!

See you on Wednesday
Roy

--------------------------------

*** The proposed new VOEvent protocol and open-source library, now with
table data;

*** Positives and negatives of proposed distribution methods for rapid
transients, such as XMPP, XML-RPC, and GCN-like protocols

*** How projects are actively using VOEvents now, including CRTS, Fermi,
GALEX, LIGO, LOFAR, MAXI, MOA, OGLE, PTF, SWIFT.

*** Existing VOEvent infrastructure and synchronization

*** Nature of LSST events and distribution plans

And then a spirited discussion on these and other topics, such as:
-- Who are the communities who want LSST events?
-- How to classify events to send them to the right community?
-- What will the event consumers do with the events?
-- What do humans want, what do machines want?
-- Is rapid delivery important?
-- Is reliable delivery important?
-- Is a queryable repository important?
-- How will we make a real-time delivery network?
-- What formats and protocols could be used interoperably?
