Negative? Moi?

Okay, I've been told I am being unduly negative and have been harping on
about the 'failure' of the VOEvent spec. I apologise to those who've been
offended by my comments or the manner in which I present them. I appreciate
all the hard work that has gone into making this spec in such a short time
and do not undervalue the effort involved: my concerns are only directed at
one small aspect of the spec, the <param> and <group> constructs. And I can
assure you that, like everyone on this list, my only goal is to help with
making the spec successful.

That said, I will not stop voicing my concerns nor back off just because
some (or most or all!) people do not agree with me. I will back off
completely when it is demonstrated that I am wrong or that my concerns do
not impact how the spec is supposed to work. I will, however, make every
effort to ensure that how I phrase my comments is not misconstrued as
belittling the efforts of those who have worked hard to produce the spec.

Cheers,
Tony.
