Yes, the scheduling conflict is unfortunate. Any input will be appreciated.

Hi Tess,

irritatingly I will not be able to attend this year’s session too, as it clashes with a DSP session that I am taliking in - I will put together a
list of problems that I have seen.

Also I have just noticed that egregious advertising from Microsoft at the top of the my email presumably inserted by our exchange server - I need to work out who to complain to…

Cheers,
Paul.

Hi Paul,

Thanks, that would be a great topic if some of the guilt—I mean, relevant parties are going to be there. I will come with a topic or two, but the hackathon model is that folks with an idea like this stand up and say “I want to work on X”. And people who also want to work on X collect themselves at a table. That would be a good example.

FYI all, I still need to check the attendance against the metadata oddities my script finds. I’m also trying to do what I assigned myself a year ago and fix our subjects to be from the UAT, and I’m finding some issues I’d love to discuss.

Cheers,
Tess

Hi, I have a topic to discuss at the hackathon - related to https://github.com/ivoa/registry-housekeeping/issues/10 [github.com] <e3f92342-5078-43da-b1d8-125ff0fc41f9> - it turns out that there are several registry implementations that suffer from similar problems - i.e. XML validation fails on the returned OAI records - often due to missing namespace declarations, but there are some other issues too. This might be well-known - I have not attended the recent hackathons… Paul.
