Have your resources listed in ADS!

Dear Registry operators,
ADS has had VizieR resources as findable and citeable records for
quite a while (the yCat bibcodes). Now you can have the same thing
for your VO-published resources. The longer story is in BibVO (which
has two other valuable sections, by the way):
https://ivoa.net/documents/Notes/BibVO/20240214/NOTE-BibVO-1.0-20240214.html#tth_sEc4
In short, what you need to do to tell ADS to create a record for your
registered VO resource:
(1) Mint a DOI for it (unless you already have one, of course). If
you can do that yourself, fine, otherwise, use voidoi
(http://dc.g-vo.org/voidoi/q/ui/custom). Add that DOI to your
resource record in a top-level altIdentifier element, right below the
identifier:
<ri:Resource ...>
<title>Gaia DR3 RP/BP (XP) Monte Carlo sampled spectra</title>
<identifier>ivo://org.gavo.dc/gaia/s3/pub</identifier>
<altIdentifier>doi:10.21938/W:hWbPah3wBabuqewQULTA</altIdentifier>
<curation>
...
(2) In your curation element, add a
<date role="ExportRequested">2026-08-26</date>
element (for today's date).
(3) Wait a bit; if you want to speed the process up a bit, use
http://dc.g-vo.org/rr/q/harvtrig/form with your publishing registry's
ivoid; but ADS also harvests asynchronously, so it may take a few
days until your record appears on ADS.
So: Go forth and make your data collections more citeable (and
findable)!
Thanks,
Markus
