Congrats and thanks for all your hard work, registry folks!


The new VODataService 1.2 adds a seemingly small feature for tagging "auxiliary" capabililities, which enables a better organization of metadata for catalogs and higher-level services. This has been used in some registries in practice for a while, and we are now working on spinning up multiple approaches to support in the pyvo client!


While there is no Registry session at this week's IVOA meeting, owing to operational presentations fitting well into other sessions and this milestone being just completed, there will be a small gather.town gathering during the afternoon break Wednesday Nov 3, hashing out some of those pyvo details and their implications.
