Okay, then we would need their authority IDs to be recorded in the 
aggregating registry's record.  

I should note that OAI has a recommendation for tracking provenance 
(within the OAI wrapper) through aggregating harvesters 
(http://www.openarchives.org/OAI/2.0/guidelines-provenance.htm); however, 
it doesn't fit with the idea of the local registry being completely 
hidden.
