Here are the topics we've discussed in the NVO recently:

  1.  Resource Schemas: lessons learned
  2.  Harvesting:  a Web Service version of OAI
        The lead of OAI, Carl Lagoze, is on the NVO Advisory Committee,
so 
        we've discussed this idea with him.  OAI would welcome a
proposal 
        for a WS version.  We think it's easy enough that we should just

        do it.
  3.  Registry Query Language 

Some ideas:

By this, I gather you mean, for example, defining the WSDL for the
various 
registry interactions: harvesting, querying, synchronization(?).  If so,
I 
agree.
