Registry discussion

I understand the difficulty of keeping up with a wide ranging and fast
moving discussion but I personally welcome this sort of activity - it is
more likely to get us to a state where we can produce a proposal which
captures most people's ideas and attracts fewer objections than if just one
person (or one project) sits down and develops it.

Those who do not have the time or inclination to get involved in the mailing
list discussion can wait until the flurry dies down, read the two dozen or
so messages and then make a considered comment - as I did with the NVO
metadata list messages which then generated the traffic here.

The end result *will* be a summary, either wholly or as part of a working
draft. And people can wait to make their comments then if they wish.

Cheers,
Tony.
