Hi James,
In the notes from our last meeting, you expressed concern about the
overhead of providing the codes and descriptive pages for the
namespaces.

In most cases, the IVOA standards would define the core set of error
codes and namespace for each standard.
The TAP standard would define the TAP specific errors, and the ADQL
standard would define the ADQL specific errors etc. The URL for the
namespace and the corresponding descriptive pages for each type of error
would be published as part of the standard, and could be posted on the
IVOA website alongside the standard document.
If a 3rd party service implementer, e.g. CSIRO, wanted to extend this to
add your own implementation specific error codes for your Casda Data
Access service, you could create a namespace and host the descriptive
pages on your own project GitHub repository.
https://github.com/csiro-rds/casda_data_access
https://github.com/csiro-rds/casda_data_access/error-codes
But that would only be needed of you wanted to have your own
implementation specific error codes. Your service would not need to add
anything to use the IVOA standard namespaces and error codes.
Hope this helps,
