The new IVOA interest group has been chartered to provide a forum for discussion and activities
promoting the robust operations of VO and other distributed services in astronomy. Thank you for
joining this group.
Our first meetings will be next month in the Sesto Interop where we have two sessions planned. The
first will address the logistics of this group and also include reviews of the current statistics on
VO operations: how many services we have, what is the rate of operational issues, where do services
currently have gaps in implementing VO standards. The second session has a broader focus and could
include any topics in the Operations charter. A preliminary schedule for Ops talks is available at
http://wiki.ivoa.net/twiki/bin/view/IVOA/InteropOpsJune2015. Please get in touch with me if you
would like to present or if you have topics you would like to see covered.
An initial Ops wiki is up at http://wiki.ivoa.net/twiki/bin/view/IVOA/IvoaOps. Our discussions at
Sesto should include understanding what additional material belongs here, but feel free to make
edits yourself before then. The wiki should be a primary resource for anyone interested in VO
operations.
Looking forward to seeing you in Sesto. Please feel free to bring up topics of interest for
discussion on this list immediately. We don't need to wait till next month!
Regards,
Tom McGlynn
