G8 endorse Open Access

Apologies for sending a news item on a technical list, but this might be of interest to folk here.

The G8 science ministers have released a statement, in which three out of four topics are concerned with science data sharing, and in particular the existence of "Global Research Infrastructures", which I take to include the IVOA.
