Hi,

we have three GWS sessions at Kyoto: Wednesday afternoon, Thursday Afternoon
and Friday morning.

I see them split up this way:

 Wednesday: security issues, including:

  - trust models and establishment of certificate authorities;
  - single-sign-on arrangements;
  - privilege delegation;
  - account naming;
  - attribute authorities and interoperation with Shibboleth.

 Thursday:

 1. IVOA service basic profile, including:

  - review of VO support interfaces, including the WSDL contracts;
  - reports on SOAP interoperation experiences
    (possible "clinic" to discuss specific SOAP problems).

 2. Possible adoption of the "Universal Worker Service" pattern, including

  - possible IVOA standardization of AstroGrid CEA ideas and schema;
  - possible refactoring of the UWS contract to use WS-RF.

 Friday: VOStore/VOSpace, including:

  - review of current VOStore document;
  - reports from projects that have VOStore prototypes;
  - preliminary discussion of the VOSpace layer.

Does anybody have any other major topics they want to discuss?

Documents I would expect to have available (either because they already
exist, or because I'm volunteering to write them):

 - VO support interfaces spec (exists).
 - VO support interfaces WSDL (GTR to produce if nobody else does it first).
 - VOStore draft spec (exists).
 - VO service basic profile (exists).
 - UWS proposal (exists).
 - CEA standardization proposal (exists, IIRC).
 - Report on usefulness of Shibboleth (GTR to produce)
 - Outline architecture for SSO and authorization support (GTR to produce).

Any other material would be most welcome, particularly in the security area.

I would like to come out of the meeting with

 - VO support interfaces promoted to PR;
 - community approval of the VOStore direction
   (or a redirection if need be);
 - a strategic direction for CEA/UWS;
 - consensus on how we do the security this year (allowing for changes later).

I'll follow this email tomorrow with notes on current versions of documents.

Cheers,
Guy
