You will not be surprised by that, but since my vote has always been
that our DM annotation should focus on VOTable, I'm strongly against
inventing yet something else in addition to what has already
escalated a but further than I would have liked in DALI.

So, I'd say DM should say not much more than "shapes are serialised
in whatever way the container formats wants them; in VOTable, use
PARAM-s to store literals".
