UCD for query

Personally given the complexity of many queries, I thought that
    meta.cryptic
might work really well....   :).

More seriously, I'd be interested in how others have been finding value 
in carefully defined UCDs.  Other than their usage as column markers in 
some of the DAL protocols (replaced by UTypes for more recent 
protocols), we (at the HEASARC) haven't seen large benefits to our 
users, but we likely are not utilizing them as effectively as we might.  
The primary use case we have is to search for tables with particular 
characteristics, but when we have compared this with using text searches 
in the table documentation the results were comparable.   What are other 
groups doing?
