Identifying STC-S footprints in SIA

Hi Tom,

This discussion sounds familiar to me, the issue was raised one year 
ago, cf. http://www.ivoa.net/pipermail/dal/2012-January/006315.html
AFAIK, no definitive consensus was reached.

I found the following different possibilities in SIAP services 
outputting STC-S footprints :
<FIELD name="position_bounds" unit="deg" xtype="adql:REGION" 
datatype="char" arraysize="*">
or
<FIELD name="stcs" datatype="char" arraysize="*" 
ucd="phys.area;obs.field" unit="deg">
or
<FIELD ID="regionSTCS" name="regionSTCS" datatype="char" arraysize="*">
