	I think we agree, so I will skip to the "issue" outstanding.

	OK, to drill down to the problem I see:

	My issue is with adding in the "datatype, units" information in CharQuantity. It would 
	seem to me that it is not needed/redundant or is confusing (as in the case where a 
	child class has compound properties like 'limits').

	Perhaps I can understand better why you want them if you could explain to me 
	the application for this information across the child 'classes' (e.g. resolution, bounds, 
	etc).
 
	And that appears to be it. I will respond separately about the merger attempt in another
	email.
