Dear all,
A VOTABLE implementation of the characterisation data model
is released in the CDS Aladin server / SIA Atlas mode ...
This service can be accessed via General browsers such as
NVO DATASCOPE.
(In the Datascope "RESOURCEs" query response page, look in the "Other"
section of the Images Resources for the "Aladin" slot)
For each Image in the SIA Atlas mode CS server (currently
containing 2MASS, IRAS-IRIS and WENSS images) Two lines are available
one with ucd= "VOX:Image_Format" name = "OriginalCoding" FIELD set
to "image/fits"
and one with ucd= "VOX:Image_Format" name = "OriginalCoding" FIELD set
to "text/xml"
Clicking on the latter (using the View or link buttons) you will get the
full characterisation result for this observation in VOTABLE format...
This implementation gives spatial , time, and spectral characterisation
spatial is given up to level 3: the support is given by an stc polygon
in sky coordinates.
Time is given upto level 1
Spectral band is given up to level 2.
NO Flux/observable characterisation is given because the calibration is
not well known!
Preliminary versions of this service have been demonstrated in the
Victoria and Moscow Interop Meetings
What is planned in the followings days/weeks:
- release the xml characterisation schema based version
- add new atlas images to this server (Schmidt plates preview)
- create in the same way a mosaic and a cutout server with other
surveys available (Schmidt plates Mama and DSS full resolution
and others surveys)
We are waiting for your comments
François and the characterisation team
