Please forgive me for sending you a direct email like this but I wanted to reach out to all of you to ask whether you would see some interest in establishing some sort of discussion about possible cooperations between the astropy community and the <a href="http://ivoa.net/" target="_blank" class="">IVOA</a> community, which I am currently representing as member of its Committee on Science Priorities (CSP, in copy). We of course think that enhancing the mutual awareness might be positive for everyone, mostly given the recent changes on both sides. Hence my message.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">We are <a href="http://wiki.ivoa.net/twiki/bin/view/IVOA/InterOpMay2018MeetingtPage" target="_blank" class="">meeting</a> from May 27th to June 1st of 2018 at the Canadian Astronomy Data Centre (CADC) in Victoria, Canada, and we would like to organize a session to discuss specifically ways in which we could collaborate with the astropy community such that Virtual Observatory resources (mostly accesses to data) are more easily available in the astropy context and viceversa. Would some of you available and interested to join the meeting, even if remotely, to give a general presentation about astropy and then maybe also to participate on a discussion about possible synergies? We would be very grateful for that. What do you think?</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">I found Sebastien Fabbro as one of the coauthors of one astropy <a href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1801.02634" target="_blank" class="">paper</a> and based in Victoria (maybe) so I wondered whether you could be interested to join in person our meeting at least on the 1-2 hours when we discuss the possible astropy-IVOA collaborations. Would that be possible?</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Many thanks in advance for your time reading this email and I look forward hearing your thoughts.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Best regards,</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Bruno</div><div class="">ps: please do forward my request to anyone in the astropy community that you consider should be involved in the conversation.
