Dear Juan,

As discussed earlier, we would like to invite you to make a short presentation in the Focus Session titled “Big Data Challenges in Astronomy” scheduled at the upcoming IVOA interop meeting in Paris about how LSST plans to distribute and enable discovery on the data to their users. We would like to have a 5 minutes presentation and 5 minutes questions and answer sessions for a number of large projects or surveys producing large amounts of data (SKA, LSST, PanSTARRS, WFIRST, TESS, Gaia and Euclid), followed by a larger discussion on how the IVOA infrastructure and protocols can help in that task. We would like to discuss either at your presentation or in the Q&A session the next couple of questions:

- Describe the data volumes and types of data expected from the mission/survey.
- Describe the data dissemination/exploitation plan for users.
- Are you looking at sending data to users or looking at a code to the data approach.
- How would you cross-correlate data with different surveys?
- Where does the IVOA fit into your plans?

- Bonus question (if applicable): Possibly, what is the distribution of data volumes used in the science publications so far done with data from the survey?

We look forward for a very interesting session that might enable the IVOA to focus more its activities in areas of work that could be useful for your project in the mid-term future. Please let me know whether you have any questions.

Many thanks in advance for your time,

Bruno
