SPLAT-VO

I'm trying to run Splat-VO on a recent Mac (M3 under OS 14), and it fails miserably.
It does launch with 
/Applications/splat-vo3/bin/splat/splat --ignore 1
but fails to download any local spectrum (or display them when passed via SAMP)
This is too bad because Splat unique functionalities are useful for spectroscopy ;(
Is there any plan to upgrade the app (or a known workaround)?
