Just one minor clarification for the wider audience's benefit:

Uh, I just notice that is indeed a misleading description.  What the
hedging language on EQUATORIAL actually means is: "Do not use this
general term *itself* unless you have ancient coordinates; please use
more specialised terms like FK4, ICRS, etc whenever possible".

I wonder if fixing this misleading language is worth another VEP...
