Hi apps,
I'm sending you this news on behalf of Jean-Michel Glorian:
I am pleased to announce the release of the latest version of CASSIS.
You can download it at the following address:
http://cassis.irap.omp.eu/?page=installation
You can also try the online version with a connection, by default, to
the CDMS-VAMDC database (see http://www.vamdc.eu/) ; the online
version can be found here:
http://cassis.irap.omp.eu/online/
Note that we still have the problem of the jar certification with the
java web start technology.
What is CASSIS?
CASSIS is a software for the visualization, inspection, and analysis
of spectral data. It is designed, among other things, to ease and
speed up the line identification in high-resolution, wide-band
spectra. It is organized in "views" such as:
* spectrum analysis : to display entire spectra
* LTE+RADEX : to create synthetic spectra under different assumptions
* line analysis : to search for and display all the transitions of a
given species (molecule or atom)
* rotational diagram : to build a plot of the column density of the
upper-energy levels of a species as a function of the energy of these
levels
For all views, a number of tools are accessible: overlay of all the
transitions a selected list of species, overlay of a linelist, line
(Gaussian, Lorentzian, Voigt) and baseline (polynomial, sinusoidal)
fitting, spectra manipulation (add, subtract, divide, average, smooth,
resample, etc).
More information can be found on our website
(http://cassis.irap.omp.eu/) and online help
(http://cassis.irap.omp.eu/help/).
What's new in this version :
* SSAP module to get spectra with the SSAP protocol
* choice of (locally stored) SQLITE database or connection to the VAMDC database
Other features still available :
* SAMP connection
* jython script editor
If you encounter any problem or if CASSIS cannot read your spectral
data, please send us an email to:
cassis-team at irap.omp.eu
Jean-Michel Glorian,
on behalf of the CASSIS team.

With best regards,
Ivan
